Journal #2: Digital Communication
What I found most surprising about digital communication is all the different ways you can do it. There isn't just one way you can communicate digitally, there are lots of different ways from email to using a social media to communicate to someone. A couple things I learned about email etiquette is that using bold letters and not answering as soon as possible can be rude and make the other person mad cause they can't see how you're feeling with your face movements or the sound of your voice. Another thing I learned was that if you don't title your email it may never be read and just be put into their junk mail. Blind carbon copy, a copy of an email sent to a recipient without the recipients address appearing in the email. You could use blind carbon copy for security and privacy reasons. I think the most important thing for young people to consider when they're communicating digitally is that because you're not talking to them in person, the thing you say may not turn out the way you wanted it to and they could think it's rude. Double checking what you wrote could help fix these possible mistakes.
Acronyms Attack (Assignment Two)
1. Three acronyms that you could use during digital communication are; RN (right now), WTF (what the frig), and SSY (seriously)
2. Four places you'd never use digital acronyms are; an email to your boss, an essay for school, an apologetic letter, or a letter to your priest.

Communication Compass Assignment #1
1. Digital communication is the physical transfer of data over a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint communication channel.
2. Four advantages of digital communication is it is faster and easier, you don't waste paper, it provides facilities like video conferencing which saves a lot of time, money and effort, and it is cheaper. Four disadvantages of digital communication is it is unreliable, it can be harmful because a message can be sent very easily and by mistake, it ignores the human touch, and it can be easily misused.
3. The three most popular types of digital communication are; the internet and email, cell phones, and high-definition televisions. I think these are the most popular types of digital communication because the new generation loves technology and can't seem to go long without using it in some form.
4.Three types of digital communication that may not be around for much longer are email, home telephones, and some medias. I think these aren't going to be around for much longer because most people use their cell phones for calling instead of the home phone and people can text instead of sending an email. There are new social medias too so the older ones will be left for the new ones.
5. A couple places you should not be communicating digitally is at school and at your work. You shouldn't be doing this because you should be focusing on your work and trying to succeed and not have any distractions. Another place you shouldn't be communicating digitally is when you're with your friends because they should have your attention and not feel excluded. A couple other places you shouldn't be communication digitally is at any sort of party or while driving because you need to be focused on driving and when you're at a party, you're suppose to be celebrating something.
6. Two forms of digital communication where you'd be in the most danger is communicating digitally and driving and also being cyber bullied. These are the most dangerous in my opinion because you can be hurt very badly emotionally and physically in these situations.
7. I think that people will find a healthy balance with technology and the world because I think that once people realize how much time it is taking out of their day that they will start focusing on other things and find a healthy balance.
8. I think if someone becomes very ill that they should be able to keep their digital communications because in the worst situation they die, their family and friends will be able to visit the site and recall all the good memories they had.

Journal #1: Digital Security
What I found most surprising when it comes to digital security and creating passwords is that people will chose very simple passwords for very personal things and think they won't get hacked. I found it confusing and difficult that people should have a sentence long password in order for it to be safe. I thought that as long as it was personal and semi-long that it should be good. Based in the information in this section, I think that my password is pretty secure because it is something personal and is relatively long. I think the most important thing to remember when considering passwords and digital security is that there are a lot of hackers and you should make sure your password is safe and secure so your personal information will never be reveled.

Digital Security (assignment one)
1. These passwords listed are very easy passwords to guess. I think that these would be the first passwords hackers would try and I think that's why so many people get hacked.
2. I personally have never used any of those passwords. When I first got an account, I made sure it was something related to me so that I could always remember it and I still you the same password today. I chose a personal password so I know for sure that there is a slim chance I can be hacked.
3. Yes, I think that seniors may use these passwords more because they may forget things easily so they want to pick something easy to remember. If they do choose one of these simple passwords, they could easily change the password to something else and if they feel like they're going to forget it they can write it down.
4. Three extra horrible passwords that weren't on the list are; your name, age, or favorite colour.
5. A modern password so be at least a sentence long

Third Party Google Apps
On The Go Map is a great way to make an easy workout route that you can share with others. This app allows people to make and share their workout routes with all of their friends and other people that enjoy working-out so they can perfect their route. It's a great way to find some companions to run with to make it more joyful. Notepad With Speech makes it simple to get work done. It would be especially useful in meetings and on the go if you don't have time to type out what you need. My favorite part about it is how easy it is to use.
